A problem has been discovered with nearly 70,000 2021 Hyundai models as well as 2022 Hyundai and KIA models equipped with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The electric oil pump inside the transmission may suddenly fail, causing a loss of oil pressure inside the transmission. When this happens, the transmission defaults into neutral and ceases to transmit engine torque to the wheels. This will prevent the vehicle from being driven. The fault may occur with little or no warning, but your car will sound a chime and display a message on the instrument cluster that says "stop safely immediately." Sometimes the fault can be temporarily overcome by stopping, turning the igntion off, waiting a few seconds, then restarting your car. Also, some owners have reported that switching driving modes from "smart" to "sport" may sometimes restore normal operation temporarily. The NHTSA Campaign Numbers for this recall are 22v746000 and 22V760000.
